Hello Louis, you wrote in part: *snip*
things I don't like. I don't like the pouch that comes with the BookSense. I wish it came with a case. You can by a vinyl case from GW or a leather case from Executive Products but I find that a cell phone case is adequate.

I agree that the pouch it comes with is not much protection, or so it seems on the surface. However let me explain why it comes with it instead of an actual case.
1. Not everyone wants a case. If you note with cell phones, laptops, and other portable devices, they don't come with a case, or if they do, it's of the pouch variety. I received a Zoom H2 recorder for Christmas and it came with a cotton-feeling-nasty-useless pouch which makes the BookSense velvety case seem like gold when compared. The Zoom H2 as you may or may not know, is not an accessibility type of recorder. So this shows that mainstream items are not different.
2. Protection. While it seems like the pouch offers little to no protection, let's take the following situation into consideration. What if you want to put the BookSense in your pocket or purse. You may not want the case for this because those are more bulky. Now the pouch on the other hand is form-fitting and would offer small protection, but that protection can save your BookSense. I don't know about you, but I usually have loose change in my pocket. My wife has loose change in her purse. We have seen that coins can work their way into the SD card slot of the BookSense. However if you place it in the pouch, and then place it in your pocket or purse, no foreign objects will damage it. What if you carry around keys in your pocket or purse, the keys could scratch the surface.
I hope this helps and perhaps the pouch will be considered a more valuable accessory.
Many thanks. -- Raul A.
