Hi all --
I bought booksense some weeks ago (I don't remember the date) and plugged it
in to charge. It sat there for a very long time before I took it out today
to familiarize myself with it and try to prepare to use it.
Thanks to a brief "getting started" from gw tech support, I managed to walk
through all the menus and set things up the way I wanted and experiment with
some features. One thing I wanted to try was to see if I could use the
bluetooth feature with my new bluetooth capable hearing aids. It turned out
there was an incompatibility, which was disappointing, but such it goes.
Anyway, i did listen to the battery level just before the problem started.
It was at level 7 with volume at 20. I long pressed the 6 to scan for
bluetooth, which failed, and then long pressed it again to turn it off.
Somewhere in between those 2 operations, the unit went completely dead.
Nothing. I turned it off by long pressing the on/off switch. I tried
turning it back on and it was still dead. I tried everything I could think
of and could get it to wake up.

One thing that is behaving normally is the green indicator light just below
the asterisk key. It turns red when I connect to AC power and goes back to
green when I disconnect it.
It is disconnected now because frankly, the unit is hot. I don't know how
warm the booksense is supposed to get but it definitely feels like it has
been working...

I really feel a let-down. I was looking forward to using this thing,
especially while travelling when I don't have my computer connected.

Is there something wrong with the unit I have? or did I just put it in a
silent mode? If the latter, how do I resurrect the sound?

Sending an S.O.S...
Any info welcome. Thanks much!
