Hello Traci. This is certainly a new one. I've not heard of a BookSense
not powering off as long as the keylock switch is not set. From your
message since you can open and close NLS books, I would guess your
keylock switch is not the issue. To reinstall firmware, you press and
hold cancel and 9 at the same time. As you hold them, press reset button
for 1 second and keep holding cancel and 9 until the BookSense announces
the firmware is installing. This of course assumes you have firmware
files in the root of your SD card.
If this continues, give us a call.
Many thanks.

Ok y'all, the booksense turning on by itself the other weekend was weird
enough, but now I'm unable to shut mine off.
I was listening to a nls book last night, and paused it for a minute.
When I resumed, I listened for a minute more, then was ready to turn
off. The booksense would not turn off.
I held down the play button like usual, and nothing happened. Well,
except for silence. When I held it down again, my book started playing.
I decided to exit out of the book, to see if that would help. Nope, same
result. So, I left the daisy folder to see if that would do anything. Nope.
At this point, sound like I should try the battery removal. Well, bad
news bears, still not working correctly.
My next step will be that paperclip reset. I'll wait for someone to help
out, I'm a chicken!
If that doesn't do it, I may need to contact GW to get a reminder on how
to reinstall the firmware. I remember last time, it was quite the finger
acrobatics. *smile*
