I agree this seems like an easy fix, but for those of us who aren't
familiar with the code base or what's involved in development and
testing to get a seemingly easy fix in, we should probably refrain from
speculating. I think I work pretty hard at my job, but if everything
were as easy as people seemed to think it was then they probably
wouldn't even need someone doing my job in the first place! :-) Note
that I don't work for GW Micro and this was just meant as an anecdote to
make a point.
I didn't save the email, but I seem to recall that Raul or someone from
GW Micro said this was just going to be a maintenance release with some
bug fixes in it and that we shouldn't expect much if any new
functionality. For my part, I'm hoping there's a 3.0 out there with
support for DRM protected WMA files in it, as well as this and some
other fixes.

I was wondering why the tts volume when playing any audio files was
not addressed in 2.1? It seems like an easy fix would have been: when
playing any audio content, volume up and down would only change the
audio of what's currently playing and not change the tts volume.
