That's interesting as I have had similar behavior from my BS. I came home
from a short day trip yesterday and I knew that my bs was in my room locked
with a full charge, and turned off.
But as I came in my room, it played the "shut down" sound as if it had been
on. I checked the battery and it was 9. Is there some periodic jobs
running in the background of this thing that turn the unit on and off at odd
times? I know it does it whenever I set the alarm clock. It wakes me up at
5am every morning, and it comes out of a sleep state to do that.
What's with this thing?

Subject: [GW-Booksense] Needing help!!!!!! Strange behavior of the BookSense
continues.

                                                 Thursday afternoon
while reading a brf book from Bookshare, I turned off the
BookSense. I locked it as I usually do. I had to do a hard reset to
turn it back on. When I did, it kept saying the BookSense was locked
when it wasn't. As a matter of fact, when I would slide the switch
into the "unlocked" position, it would say, "Unlocked... Locked." I
had to do two more hard resets before it would work properly. When
the trouble started, the battery level was 8.

The next morning I inserted a different memory card. At battery
level 8 again, the BookSense started locking when it was in the
unlocked position. I have several memory cards, and it seems to act
strangely with them all. I reinstalled 2.0 and 2.1, but the problem
persists.

Turn right, then go straight!

         Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Amplified Bible)

11For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the
Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to
give you hope in your final outcome.

12Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me,
and I will hear and heed you.

13Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital
necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.(A)

14I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you
from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places
to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back
to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.
