First of all, speed is subjective. The TTS voices can be speeded up to the point you can't understand the speech in my opinion. The human voices go as fast as I want them to, but many others on list have said they should be faster.

I don't use my BookSense and Stream as a recorder, so I can't answer these questions. But they play NLS books just fine. Remember, each device is operated differently, but as far as NLS books go, they should more than meet your needs.

Well, I'm again contemplating the purchase of a portable player. I'm
calling on the wisdom of the list to pass on how the Book Sense rates
compared to the Book Port and Stream. I'm interested in overall
impressions, any flaw or benefit I don't mention here, and in these
questions:

Can you speed up the tts or human voices fast enough?

Are there any limitations with line-in recording?

If you have one, how does recording in general compare to that on the Book
Port Plus?

How does playback of NLS books compare to that on either of the other
players?

Thanks for any feedback.

Turn right, then go straight!

        Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Amplified Bible)

11For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

12Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.

13Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.(A)

14I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.
