Hello, the current firmware is version 2.1 from March this year. We are
still going to post updates to BookSense as well as our other products
such as Window-Eyes, Braille Sense, SenseView, and cool stuff about us
in general. Things like this go to the gw-news list as well as our
discussion lists. So you are most definitely not required to use
BookSense Buddy if you don't want to. We added the firmware check
functionality to make it convenient for those who want a one-stop
solution, or for those who might experience trouble in copying things to
and from Windows Explorer and the BookSense using the standard Explorer
methods.

Many thanks.
