I also use the radio more than I thought I would. I agree, too, that there are other reasons one might prefer the BookSense standard over the Stream, though I also own both.
The text-to-speech is far, far better than that on the Stream. For me, the smaller size/lighter weight is a big deal, as the BookSense fits in my bag much better and is comfortable to leave hanging around my neck on its lanyard as I move around the house. The speaker is a little louder than that on the Stream, though not by much, when reading NLS books, alas. The folder/file structure is definitely easier to manage. I like the alarm and clock feature, though that, too, I didn't think I'd use much. There are a few things I don't like as well, but on the whole, I would probably choose the BookSense standard over the Stream and find the extra features on my BookSense XT to be more useful than I initially thought they might be and worth the price difference. (And I don't use Bluetooth, either.) For what it's worth, I used the Stream for nearly two years without much trouble. But I've now used the Booksense for 3 months and so far, so good, as well. (I've had to re-set it once and occasionally have to remove and re-seat the battery to force a cold boot.) --Carla Carla Campbell [email protected] httP://www.quadrussage.com If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
