Hi all. Does anyone know if there are plans to add speex support to the booksense? I am always adding audio files of speech content to my device and support for these codecs would allow me to put 2-3 times as much content on my BookSense. Right now, I am encoding mp3 files at 32KBPS, but MP3 isn't really designed for ultra-low bitrates, and it's also not really tuned for speech anyway. I've tried the Windows Media voice codec, but that isn't well supported either, as it doesn't support being sped up. When sped up, it just increases in pitch instead of playing faster.
Are there any other codecs I might try? Has anyone gotten mp4 content to work? I've tried encoding some things with the Nero AAC encoder, but they won't play. Any ideas? Also, does anyone know what the status of the new firmware is? Is it being worked on, or have other projects taken priority. Any prospective feature updates that can be shared? Thanks!
