The settings were lost during the upgrade to add support for the new
Eloquence. Once you change them they will be remembered again.

Good morning. I installed the beta of WE 7 yesterday and things are
going very well. It does seem to be even more responsive on my
system than 6.1. The progress bar script is very nice. I also like
the enhanced list view script. I have noticed one small regression
from 6.1. In 6.1 the synth dialog remembere d the settings
for serial synths like my Doubletalk LT. I could switch back and
forth between software and hardware synths without making sure the
proper port was s et. Yesterday I experimented with the new
Elloquence. It worked well here. When I went back to the LT and
pressed enter there was no speech. I ran NVDA to figure out what
was up. WE put the LT on Com1 which doesn't exist on this system. I
set it back to com5 but still no speech. I closed WE and NVDA, then
restarted WE which came up talking. I hope this isn't a permanent
situation since I'm likely to switch without remembering to reset the port.
