I should think so or I wouldn't be hearing things like "so and so is away".
Only those two things that I mentioned doesn't seem to work.

No, I don't think you are trigger happy. For me and my friend, the skype
script still does not announce who signs in and out as advertised. Also,
during a chat session, it would be great if received messages could be

out automatically just like Windows Live Messenger.

Nope. The Skype script gets that directly from the Skype COM interface,
so
either Skype quit working, the script isn't running, or wineyes.exe (or
wecom.exe under Vista) no longer has access to Skype.
