It seems to me that this Eudora discussion is not going to come to a
natural conclusion.
WE use Eudora differently, we have personally configured computer
systems and we have different experiences.
It is known in the sighted world that Eudora is system resource
hungry: it opens several mailboxes on start up - in, trash, out and
junk. As these mailboxes increase in size, so they demand more
memory resource. Furthermore: Eudora's basic file structure for
messages are stored as multiple files in various folders, so that as
more and more files are opened, so it gets more and more
sluggish. Your basic mailbox consists of a table of contents file,
which is updated each time a message is added, deleted or replied to
against a filter. Then messages are textfiles, which can be opened
using Notepad. The software keps a database record of these various
changes.
These are not Window-eyes issues, apart from the fact that
Window-eyes is also memory and cpu intensive.
Whilst I use Eudora, love it and think some aspects could be better:
I agree with GW Micro that because Qualcomm is no longer supporting
Eudora, other more pressing applications are worthy of proper
attention when it comes to Window-Eyes.

Try restore and maximize. You just need to try them in different
orders and perhaps several times to get the right window size. It
also depends on other frames/windows open in the background.

Have the viewer on also, but no go. I'll just keep on trying
what ever I can, and maybe I'll have a break through eventually.
Like right now, I'm having no trouble reviewing this message at
all. I did press the restore option in both the system and child
window menus, so maybe that did the trick, but I'm afraid to jump
to any sudden conclusions. Thanks though for your suggestion.

if you turn on the ms viewer, that will help a bit with typing,

Typing messages is always a problem, even without other messages open.

Hi,
I too am using eudora with no problems. I do not keep
several messages open at once, though, so cannot comment on
that problem, but typing messages is not a problem at all.

I have been using Eudora for nearly 10 years with Window-eyes
and none of the problems you've stated sound familiar. I am
typing this message in a Eudora message edit box without
needing to redraw or do anything to keep the text visible.
I don't wish to intrude but why would you want to open a large
number of messages at the same time? I may have got this wrong.
Perhaps you could explain in more detail what it is you want to achieve.
For me Window-eyes 7 has made using Eudora an even faster and
more comfortable experience. It is a shame you're having these
problems but I have my doubts about the notion that window-eyes
7 is the sole cause of them all.
take care

I'm just wondering if the situation with Eudora is so dire
that I am really just going to have to throw in the towel, or
is there a chance that it's chances with the next beta are
good, and that might be redeemable.
I have previously spoken about problems opening a large number
of messages for reading, and how it causes a form of
congestion (the only way I know to describe it) that causes
one to have to close a number of messages before WE7 Beta even
starts to speak again. Now I have to report that I have to
redraw the screen time and time again while typing in the
message editor, making it a real chore to use the program at all.
I mean, if it is really necessary for me to use another mail
client in order to meet the future head on with Window-Eyes,
then I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and move
to Thunderbird or something, but I really don't want too.
Eudora does all I need for a mail client to do, and if it
wasn't for this situation, I would just stay right where I'm
at, to be colloquial <g>.
Anyway, would like to hear something definite on this matter
from the staff at GWMicro.
Larry
PS Sorry about the sloppiness of this message. As I said,
typing messages has become one big chore. Every time I press
the space bar, or back space, I have to refresh/redraw.
