I am also having very similar problems. I have been rebooting and I notice that Window-Eyes begins speaking just as my computer is about to restart. I have also been hearing the message "text to speech output v1.0" from time to time as I reboot. Not sure what that is but didn't notice it before beta 1. As stated in the two previous messages, I am not able to reliably reproduce the problem and only one time was an error report generated and submitted to GW Micro.

The last time was when I left Winamp on for a long while but it doesn't seem to happen all the time. I just re-boot. Chuck P.S. I wish some how the error reporting could pinpoint that but then, I just lose speech, from what I can tell Window-eyes still seems to be still working, just not talking. I'm sure people around my shop wish I might adapt that behavior. No predictable series of actions seems to trigeer this though it seems to happen a lot whilst within Firefox 3. I've been able to shut down Window-Eyes by pressing W in the tasks list and ending the task. Is their another way of doing this, maybe via the command propt? (Control-Insert F4 doesn't do it.) Ray.
