Sometimes due to the way Windows is in general, you have to install a
new copy of 6.1, then upgrade to version 7. Of course you will need your
6.1 CD to do this.

Well here is the deal,
I first installed 6.1 on this machine when it was in beta. When it was
released I ordered a cd and installed the finil releas from the cd and
it has been workng fine. I go to install th beta of 7 and it does not
read. I csan get it to read the desktop and tell me the time, but that
is all. I do not think I have Chris Hill wrote: the 6.1 cde at this time.

I have a couple of theories. One is that if the install of 6.1 was an
upgrade, 7 fails to install correctly. My second is that it may be
okay, but the startup screws up, so just unload and reload window-eyes
and see what happens. I thought I'd fixed my laptop by a reinstall,
but now I still have to kill wineyes when I start the machine because
it screws up on startup.

Chris,
I had 6.1 on my system. I am not sure I have the cd for 6.1 rite
now. I was using 6.1 before I upgraded. It ran fine before then.
Are you saying that something happen durring the upgrade prosses?

I'll bet you had upgraded from a previous version without
reinstalling. The same mess happened on my laptop, and that's what I
had to do to fix it.

Hi all,
Here are my findings with we 7 beta 1. First I tried too install
the beta from a cd which I got from gwmicro at the nfb convention.
It said that I) already had a copy already installed. I then
installed it from the web. It nstalled finne, but now I am unable
to read anything on the screen att all unless I use the mouse
keys. I find this unexceptable. I do not know what is going on,
but I can not even get the set file manager to read at all. If
there is anything else I need to do please let me know. I have the
window maximized and it is still not reading. I am writing this
message using jfw. Please write back asap.
Thanks.
