this is the msoe graphic dictionary. there are graphics to the left of every message that are used to indicate a read , unread, attachment etc. you could try reinstalling the o e set file and let it over write the graphic files or turn track with focus on so the mouse will follow the messages and then move the mouse just a little to the left until it says graphic and give it a graphic description with control shift e. use save all graphic dictionaries to make sure it has been saved. i do not know about w e 7 but with w e 6.1 many times i lose some or all of these graphic descriptions after i send emails. the only way to get the descriptions back is to close o e and reload it. it does this with both xp and vista with w e 6.1 ----- Original Message ----- From: stan littrell To: GW Micro Product Discussion Listserv Sent: Sunday, August 17, 2008 8:12 AM Subject: changed behavior involving outlook express
First of all, I'm using we 7.0beta 2 with xp. After I installed the toolkit 6.5, I noticed a difference in behavior with oe, outlook express. When I launch oe to check my email I now notice that my email either says read for messages that I have read and just the name of the sender for new messages that haven't been read whereas the email used to indicate unread for messages that haven't been read. In other words messages that haven't been read said unread. I sincerely hope that I've made myself clear. While thisn't a big problem for me, I'm wondering whether anyone else has had this strange querk. To answer a possible question, I've temporarily turned scripting off to see whether the behavior of oe would change. To test things out, I sent myself a test message to see what would happen. The result was that my mesage merely told me the sender and the subject line, however, it didn't indicate whether the message was read or unread. I have all scripts for global usage. I made the mistake of updating the winamp scripts before installing the toolkit 6.5 and thus had all sorts of error messages and other fun stuff. I unstalled the toolkit and reinstalled it and did the same with the new winamp scripts. I know that I'm mentioning stuff that may be unrelated, however, I'm merely trying to retrace my steps. I have managed to fix some other problems that I'v had. I'm sorry about this verbose email. I'm just trying to anticipate questions. Regards fellow listers.
