Hello. My answers follow.
1. If you already have a working 6.1, you can simply upgrade to version
7.0 without having to remove 6.1 first. The CD will detect this and
offer to let you upgrade instead of installing fresh. However if you
want to install fresh, you can certain remove 6.1 and install 7.0 from
the CD, but it's not necessary.
2. Version 7.0 includes a few scripts by default. There is no way to not
install these as they are part of the install. However after you have
installed Window-Eyes 7.0, you can go into the manage scripts and sets
menu and the first item is scripting status. By default it's set to on.
You can press enter here and choose off so that scripting is not enabled.
3. If you already have version 6.1 and you simply upgrade as I mentioned
i 1, all your synthesizer and Window-Eyes settings are retained so you
need not choose another synthesizer or go with DECtalk. However if you
install fresh and choose the quick install, DECtalk will be used by
default until you go change it after the installation. If you don't use
the quick install, you can choose your synthesizer at the time of the
installation.
4. This is pretty much the same as 3. During a fresh install if you
don't use quick install, you can choose the synthesizer to use. if you
use the quick install, the DECtalk will be used. Lastly if you upgrade
6.1 to 7.0, your settings will be retained.
Hope this helps.

Hi:
I have followed the comments of version 7 with interest and I am amazed
that gw micro has come up with software that covers so many versions of
windows.
So, I jusst want a clean install and will experiment with the features
when I have a good install.
I am running xp pro with all upgrades and patches including sp3.
I am running version 6.1 from the win eyes cd.
1. Do I install 6.1 and install 7 or can I install without removing 6.1?
2. Can I install from the cd and not install any scripts and if so how.
3. I am using a software synthesizer, so do I need to choose a new one
or do I have to accept deck talk?
4. At the install should I or can I choose eloquence and install it
later, but, allow deck talk to be the install default?
Ok, that is it. I just don't want problems at install but am willing to
try scripts and the other good stuff later. My win amp is fine and do
not want skype, win amp, or any other scripts at the initial install.
Thanks and hope my note is not too confusing.
By the way, win eyes has always worked great for me and am not remotely
interested in any thing jaws offers, with apology to jaws users.
