If you are using Google, why not use the search box reached with
Control-K to enter your query? That doesn't exhibit any issues in my
instance of Firefox and is much quicker than going to Google's website
and initiating a search from there.

i can tell you what is going on but i do not know if there is a fix.
as you are typeing in a search word firefox is showing a list of
suggested web sites. if the word you type in is not in the list of
suggested words in the list this list closes and reloads the page
and there is also a advertisement below the search bar.
i turned off the script manager to see if this list of suggested
words would not come up but it did not make any difference. maybe
there is a setting in fire fox to turn this off but i did not find
anything yet.

I noticed this problem also. When in browse mode you can
press insert-a to turn autoload off, then press enter on the
edit box and start typing. This seems to be a work around,
but it would still be nice to know why this is happening.

*Subject:* WE 7.01 and firefox
I have installed WE 7.01 on both my Vista Home premium and XP
home edition computers. I am running the latest version of
Firefox and have Google set as my home page. When I attempt
to enter a search term I first make sure I am on the search
edit box then hit enter. I get the announcement that browse
mode is off so I start typing in my search term. After just a
few characters are typed in browsmode comes back on so I am no
longer entering characters into the search box. If I hit
enter again to turn off browse mod and start typing again the
same thing happens. The characters I typed before browse mode
magically comes back on are there but with browse mode not
staying turned off I can not complete a entry of a search
term. This problem did not happen prior to WE 7.01.
I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall firefox and to
uninstall and reinstall the firefox sets with no improvement.
