Well, I tried to change the abbreviation "Saturday" to "sat". I have found this choice of the automatic abbreviation baffling, and supposed I should have changed this long ago before I got so frustrated I went in and blew the procedure. My error.
Now I have a dictionary called "Saturday" and have so many Saturdays I can't count them. Ok, I'm done huffing and puffing; but I wonder what led the developers to automatically display the word "s a t", as Saturday whether or not it is capitalized. Most of the contexts in which I use the word have to do with position, not the calendar. I respectfully suggest that words like sat and sun be left alone unless they are presented in upper-case in the text of the written material. Ok, griping over. Now I need to get myself outta this jam. Somehow I must have chosen the wrong setting in the first place, so I'm wondering what I did wrong. I had no trouble making the change in 6.1. Perhaps that's why I got so frustrated. Sorry again for losing my cool over this. Pam If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
