I am using a Triple Talk USB, and it seems very speedy to me as well. I hit
a key, or do anything else, and the thing speaks the key. I have noticed
zero delays in any situation, so I'm hard pressed to imagine how Eloquence,
or anything else could be much faster or more responsive. As for price, I'm
of the old "you get what you pay for" school<smile>.

Well dectalk responds faster at least it does here. so if you just use it
for that switch to dectalk.

well in all honesty I'm not a particular fan of Eloquence either. The only
reason I use it at all is because of its fast response time.

Hi,
That's an elloquence bug. As far as I know, it doesn't have to be a
long
sentence. It can do that just reading a paragraph for no apparent
reason. It happens with jaws a lot and I'm pretty sure I could make it
happen if I fired up viavoice with nvda. It's one reason that I'm a
huge
eloquence detracter.
Best,

Hi GW micro,
When the Eloquence speech synthesizer is reading a long list or there
is
a run-on sentence the pitch decreases until I think Reed is going to
belly-up. At times I feel I might die with him. I was wondering if GW
micro can insert a "breath" to re-set the pitch when Reid is starting
to
turn purple. I realize this happens when punctuation is encountered
but
in lists and very long sentences there is no punctuation break.
Thanks, Carl
