Hello. If you are getting something of an autoplay getting spoken. You might have the autoplay window open. Alt-tab around and see if you find it. Usually if you insert an external card into your PC, the autoplay dialog box comes up with a list of possible actions. Usually choosing to do nothing, or to open the folder to view files is what you will want to do.

Now if the speech you are hearing is a series of numbers, you might be hearing the progress script at work with Window-Eyes 7. By default it speaks the percentages of the progress bars. Personally i always set the script to play ascending tones for each percent. Sounds more musical and it gives me an auditory way of listening to a progress bar rather than the speech.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

Recently I have been experiencing a very annoying problem. Hopefully
someone can point me to a solution.

I frequently copy music from my PC to an SD or CF card in a
USB-attached card reader. I do this by selecting a folder of songs,
copying it to the clipboard with CTRL-C, ALT-TAB to the folder list
display of the card and then pasting it there with CTRL-V.

I used to get a read out of one "copying" dialog when I did this which
would disappear when the copy was complete. Now a get a constant flow
of speech that repeats until the copy has finished. It seems to be a
read out of the "copying" dialog:

"custom control"
"copying"
"cancel"

and another dialog that says:

"dialog", "
"autoplay"
"default"
"cancel"

These two repeat continuously with no break in the speech till the
copy operation completes.

I am running XP PRO SP3 with all recent updates and W.E. 7.01. I
cannot say this for certain but it seems as though this began after I
updated to 7.01 from 7.0. I have all scripting turned off by the way
so I don't think this is an artefact of a script.

Any/all help will be appreciated.
