I had something like that happen periodically when I would visit a specific
web page but it was only on that page. However this may be something to
try. If this is typically happening within your browser or other MSSAA
enabled application try bringing up the verbosity dialog (INSERT-V by
default,) navigate to Languages in the Browse Mode group, and uncheck the
option to automatically switch synthesizer languages. This worked for me.

Subject: Speech quality variations

I just wondered, if any of you have been into this situation, and maybe have
a fix for it. I am using the Eloquence Reed, that came with WE7.01.

Compared to the old SAPI Eloquence, the new one, sounds to me a bit more
mumbled - that is, not yet as clear in the treble sound. OK, that could be
well enough, a matter of getting used to. What puzzles me, is when there is
another sound on my computer - i.e the sound that is played standard when a
new message is received in OE, or when a new contact is logging in with
Windows Live, or when there is an error message popping up on your screnn -
Eloquence will be sounding more clear (like the old SAPI version), for a few
words, and then return to his ''new' mumbled state. I have noticed this
behavior on both my laptop, and my desktop PCs. Any Idea?

PS: you will specially notice it, with a headset, as the difference is not
that big, that you might notice on a speaker set.
