Hi Alan: I just tried it a couple of times and once it opened Word, but did not focus on it, so I thought it had stoped speaking but then I pressed alt-tab and found that it did not stop speaking, but had just lost focus. Another thing that I notice sometimes is that when I open an application, WE will stop speaking for a few seconds until the application is loaded and then it will start speaking again. Kevin Huber
