For a period of time, the VR Stream list was changed so that simple replies went out to everyone on the list. It was total chaos. Eventually, Jamie changed it back.

I would agree with you on this one. There are times when I answer a question that I purposely hit reply to a single sender. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan R. Downing" <[email protected]>

For what it might be worth, I like the list configured just as it is. When each and every reply goes out on the list, it wastes not only bandwidth, but time. And, I know all about the delete key. I'm hoping that GW keeves the various lists as they are.

Yes, isn't the way this list setup particularly annoying, and, quite
non-standard? do you think we might get GW to do something about it?

I've asked before, but it doesn't stop me from asking again. my point
is that it's not an announce-only list, they've got a separate one of
those, it's a discussion list; however, it's hard to have discussions
when you and others keep accidentally sending your replies to only one
person! shhheessshhh!

I try to always make sure it's in the correct program when I
do this. It's just that sometimes it works and sometimes it
doesn't. Also, I don't like having to do it in every single
program. I wish there was away I could still do them
globally. Should would save some time.

By the way, I keep getting emails from people that are
having the same problem but they're not email the entire
list. I got one from a Patricia and I told her to email the
list but I haven't seen one yet.

Because if you don't have the right set file loaded, or if
you press control-backslash while not focused on the program
for which you want to change the settings for, this won't
work. So now making sure you are in word, press
control-backslash and then make the changes to the enter key
and other things you mentioned. Save the set by pressing
alt-f, s, s from the Window-Eyes panel and see if this works.

Many thanks.

I've ehad other emails from people saying they're having
problems set files holding. I wish they would send them to
the entire list. As soon as I made the change my set file
settings didn't hold. That's why it's now saying app
starting and arrow. I hate it!!!

the loss of saved .set files. networks sometimes will
over-write newer files, stored in your user profile as .set
files are, with slightly older ones, if they have "roaming
profiles" enabled. this happens especially when you turn the
pc off or otherwise don't complete the logoff process (say
you're forced to reboot).

wish gw micro would go back to save global settings instead
of saving set files. I hate those. I don't think they
always hold. Besides, most of the time, I want my
settings saved globally. It's a pain to go into each program
and do that!! For example, I turn the enter key on. I even
saved the stupid set file, This was in ms-word. As soon
as I logged off my computer and logged back on, it was off.
Drives me crazy!
