Hi John, there's not much for Word 2003, that I can recall, that you need to fiddle with.
one thing is to turn off it's "reading layout", where it tries to put 2 pages side-by-side on the window. to turn this off, press alt-t for the tools menu, and o for options. in here is a multi-tabbed dialog, and the tabs are both horizontally and vertically arranged. get positioned on the tab, and then move lef/right and up/down until you find the "general" tab, or just press "g" once on a tab, and keep pressing it until the general tab is active. in the general tab, find the checkbox for "allow starting in reading layout" and uncheck it. the only other thing that's important, is to make sure the window is maximized when you start Word. if you have it set up so each document is opened in it's own window, then your friend will need to do this for each window. if you don't have your windows maximized, then you do get the weird reading effects like you described. also, there's a script that I wrote, called MS Word, which can be downloaded from script central, which helps work around some window eyes problems with Word. hth, Chip -----Original Message----- From: John Chilelli [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, September 27, 2009 11:04 AM To: [email protected] Subject: WE MS Word settings Hi again, Well I didn't get an answer on where to find how to set up Word 03 to work best with WE, so I'm sending my question again. Can someone help? Thanks Hi all, My friend says a lot of the words she wrote are only partially there when she trys reading either line by line, or one word at a time with the CTRL+right or left arrow commands. Can someone please tell me where in the WE manual these settings are located? Thanks, J If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
