Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I indeed did make an error with (up to) in the help text.
As for changing the spellings of the words, you really could if you wanted to. Each category is contained in its own file such as SpellingTestAnimals.txt It takes two lines for each word entry-the first line contains the correct spelling and the second line contains the incorrect spelling. As for an option to not display the mis-spelled word, that's a good idea. I will consider it for a future release. Again thanks, Jeff Weiss From: Steve Nutt [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, October 01, 2009 11:03 PM To: Jeff Weiss Subject: RE: updated SpellingTest script Hi Jeff, I like the concept of this one, but there are one or two things wrong with it for me. Firstly, US spellings are wrong in the UK. Whoever heard of Airplane? <Smile>. We spell it Aeroplane. So how about the ability to correct words in the script, without hacking into the source? Second, why only 20 words max in each test? Why not accept any positive value, so if I want a hundred words I could. It could really be an endurance test then. Finally, going back to the wrong spellings, why not make the word lists external, so one could add another word list or category? Oh yes, one more for me, I don't like the incorrect spellings that are given before you enter your word. I would sooner just hear the word and be asked to spell it. How about an option to turn this off? As an amusing side note by the way, in the help for this script, you put Upto as one word. This of course, is spelled incorrectly. It is Up To. That did make me laugh. Keep up the good work.
