Sorry but not really enough information to help here.  What synthesizer were
you using.  What usb sound card.  What do you mean by sluggish anyway. Also
do you get the same thing when using a standard sound device.  

Oh just in case anyone remembers my problem with not being able to switch to
wireless  usb sound cards was fixed when I reinstalled windows and went to
windows 7.  

Note this is a fresh install I don't do the upgrade thing.
