Hi. We don't define all hot keys because you would quickly run out of various combination to use. So if you want something else defined, you need to do them yourself. As you found out, going into the hot key manager will show you the hot keys and which ones are defined. To define a new hot key, arrow to the item you want and then tab to capture key. Press space on this button and then Window-Eyes will ask you to press a key. At this point the next thing you press will be the desired hot key. So if you want to use f9 as a hot key, you would press f9. If you want to use alt-shift-a as a hot key, you would press those 3 keys at the same time. If you press a hot key which is already defined, Window-Eyes will tell you this. You will then have the choice to cancel the new hot key, to accept this new hot key and undefine the duplicate or to accept this hot key and then reassign the duplicated hot key.

Once you are done, press tab until you reach the ok button and press space on it. Now go test your hot key to make sure it works the way you want. The nice thing about Window-Eyes is that it does not automatically save hot keys so if you mess up and you can't remember how things were, just close Window-Eyes and restart it. Once you are satisfied all is in order the way you like, save the set file from the file menu of Window-Eyes and then the changes will stick. Remember that hot keys are local to the set file. So if you change a hot key in Word, it does not change the same one for another program such as notepad.

Section 8 of the Window-Eyes manual is all about hot keys and you should give this a read.

Many thanks.

Hi list,

Just a queston on defining hotkeys. I saw that sme of the hotkeys i
WE are undefined. Thus you are able to define your own hotkeys. I
just wonder why GW micro does that? Example: under cursour hotkeys
the prior paragraph is undefined. How do I choose a hotkey without
messing with other hotkeys? In the case that you do mess the whole
thing up, is there a way to restore everything? an someone just help
me with useful hints on definin hotkeys please?

Kind regards
