Dear List:
I have a computer with Windows XP and one at work with Windows 2000 and they
both have the same problem. From other responders, I know that what I am
attempting to do can be done using Windows Media Player because they could
listen to the radio streaming file with no problems. When I go to the website
wsiu.org and then click on "listen now" and then click on "launch MP3", it
brings up a file that I cannot play using Windows Media Player. It says that
the file extension (pls) is unrecognized and/or there is a bad codec. What
software repair program can I use to try to repair this problem. I already
went into Windows Media Player and selected all file types. I also went into
folder options in the Windows control panel and for the file type PLS, I
selected Windows Media Player as the program to open the file. I found a free
software program on the internet called Paretologic and tried to use it, but it
was inaccessible. I feel uneasy about
downloading unknown programs that could cause more harm than good. If you
know of a software repair program that is accessible or some other method of
repairing codecs and file type extension problems, please let me know. Thanks.
