yes but doing this for the shortcut will not apply if you start it via some
other means. at least it did not do it here.

This can be done from the start menu.

hi, this message is for windows 7 users. in Skype 4.2 Skype will not
close to the system tray. it is always in the alt tab order. now you can
solve this problem.
open the Skype program folder usually C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone
now you will see a file here called Skype. this is the main executable
for the Skype program. press alt+enter.
select this file and press alt+enter.
this will open the properties dialog box.
press control tab once this will take you to the
Compatibility (Tab Control)
now check the box that says
Run this program in compatibility mode for:
now press tab to a list box that will give you options for the version of
windows you want select.
Windows Vista
now press enter.
now the next time you start Skype it will go to the system tray like a
good little boy and when you close it after you open it it will go back to
the system tray not be in the alt+tab order, and you will be a happy
camper.
