Hello David,
I am having the same problem also but I am not ready to knock the
company about the stable screen reader because this is a "_beta"
and I made the choice to install it. I would think otherwise if the
same old problem happens in the actual release.

Sorry for starting a new thread, as this topic has been dealt with in
a recent thread, which I unfortunately have deleted.
I have had WE7.2B1 freezing no less than five times, today. Five times
in one day, when you simply get stuck, in the middle of whatever you
are doing; well, doesn't really stand up for the claim that WE is the
most stabile screen reader - Does it?
In just about all the cases, this has happened when Alt-Tabbing
between two or more applications. In at least one case, all that was
open - except from my AntiVirus, AntiSpyware and Firewall - was the
Windows Live Messenger, Notepad, and Outlook Express. The other cases,
today, there have been several open Windows on my system.
Some of the cases, I am unable to do anything, but restart the
computer by holding the Power Switch. In many cases, though, NVDA has
been the helper, as I am able to load it (by use of its hotkey), and
thereby get all my work saved, before I can do a controlled restart of
the PC. When running NVDA, I can Alt-Tab to the Window-Eyes Control
Panel, but no matter how much I press Alt-F4, nothing happens in this
window. I also have tried, before loading NVDA, to press the
WIN-Backslash for relaunching WE, and the CTRL-INS-F4 to force a
shutdown of WE - hoping to get my WE up and running again. All of
this, to absolutely no avail. WE is stuck, and stubbornly refuses to
come out again, tempt him with chocolate or ice cream, spank him with
your flat hand, yell at him, or pet him; Reed has packed up WE, and
left you behind. :) How funny this might sound, there really is no
ffun to the story. And, honestly, these freezes did not happen under
7.11, and most definately NOT SEVERAL TIMES ADAY.
Upon restarting my computer, I get the dialog for sending an error
report to GW. Poor guys at GW! They are having their mailbox of error
reporting overflowing these days. :) When pressing the Send-Now
button, The speech reads 'Window-Eyes Error Reporting'. Whether
Eloquence Reed thinks I am dumbheaded, or he is trying to show off
since he so abbrupsively left me behind prior to the restart, well I
have no clue. But thing is, he repeats himself no less than three
times, on this error screen message. Then, I am in a window, entitled
'Window-Eyes Error Reporting'. And this window? Well, it seems to be
totally blank. Pressing Tab, does not give you any result; moving your
mouse, only dings on you; and try the Arrow-keys, you will have the
intensive amusement of hearing Reed tell you the title of the window,
an extra time - just to make sure, you didn't forget where you are.
Only way to get out of this window, is to press Alt-F4. Whether the
report has been send, I have no clue, since the window did give me no
feedback of the kind. And, since it is not leaving me any feedback,
why is it showing up anyway; and why doesn't it simply autoclose, when
job is done?
Well, hope Gw are Getting any further on this point. Haven't seen much
respond, as to if there has been any break-through on the matter. But,
then again, we have something to look forward to, when next release
comes around. :)
At least, over here, winter is at its end. Should be no more reason
for WE to freeze, since weather is warming up :D:)
