Hi,
I have also found that if you route the pointer to the cursor while on one
of these buttons then move away from the system tray with something like the
tab key and then move back the button you were on reads correctly. If you
are using wireless as well as lan you have to do this one time for each.

I have a theory and I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong. Basically
what's happening here is that the network icon takes focus if you leave
the arrows too long while focused on it. If you scan quickly with
arrows, then it wo't change your focus and you should be OK. MS needs to
fix this unfortunately. While we're talking about the system tray, in XP
if you arrow to the wireless or Ethernet icons, you just hear button,
but if you press enter and open its window and then browse the system
tray again, they will read fine. At least they will until the next time
you reboot. Again, an MS error which needs to be fixed.

Cheers.
