I went to lite.facebook.com yesterday and it took me to the regular
facebook site. I had lite.facebook.com set as my default.

You have a setting in facebook, that tells you: default site
There you can choose between lite, regular or "choose between lite and
regular by switching"
If you set tthis to the lite site, you will automatically be taken to
the lite.facebook site. But there are some functions missing, as
searching for groups and some more.
Even in the m.facebook site there are some things missing. e.g. you
cannot show members of groups. Therefore you would have to go to the
regular site.

The lite.facebook.com site has been discontinued by Facebook. You
will either need to use the regular site, or get m.facebook.com to
work. I use m.facebook.com and love it with Window-Eyes 7.11.
