Thanks to all for the advice. This issue has been resolved. Sadly, I can't tell you how I did it. As I was reaching for the keyboard, my palm grazed the touch pad and bada boom bada bing.
And I got the other virus software installed. I'm not a fan of McAfee, but my bank gives it away free. Now onto setting up Thunderbird. I'm reading all the articles and tutorials I can find, but they all assume I can see. grin.
