Yes, it does. I went from Smart Defrag to Disckeeper and am very glad I did. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Smart Defrag, it is quite superior to the Windows defrag tool, but it is still just a defragger. Disckeeper does a lot more than just defragmenting and once you get it set up and going, you don't have to worry about doing regular manual defrags or having an automatic defrag pop up taking up system resources at an inconvenient time. It keeps your system fragmentation free, runs in the background without eating up a lot of resources, and the optimization tool can have a noticeable effect. I got the premiere pro version when they had a $10 off deal a while back, but I don't feel that the price for what you get is too much even at the full price.

One thing to check when getting Disckeeper set up, if you want the optimization tool, can't recall what it is called, to run on a certain drive, make sure to set it up to run automatically. For some reason, the setup decided I didn't need it on my C drive, the drive I wanted it on the most and had it turned off. It takes a week or so to really start getting the real effect as Disckeeper adjusts to your personal use patterns, but once it gets going, you can notice a real difference.

Regards,

Chris

Hello. I was wondering I would like to install diskeeper on my husband's machine, and I will be installing we 6.1. Has anyone done this? How is it to install and is it workable with that version of Window eyes since all of the programs will be on cds.. I was reading the manual and will it let me know when I go in the boot defrag mode since it did say you have to do this to get everything organized. How about setting up the schedules, has anyone had success in using the mouse buttons so when you go to a part of the screen you can choose the options? Thanks.

GW-Info messages are Aloha,

I strongly recommend Smart Defrag. Not only does it work well with window eyes, and it is free. Needless to say, if you like it and can afford it, donation would be a nice gesture.
