Dan,

Any modern laptop should more than fit the bill to run Window-Eyes along with Windows 7. A few recommendations based on my own experience include: 1. Max out your RAM. You can never have too much memory, especially where heavy application loads are expected. 2. If speed is a primary concern, consider a notebook with a solid state hard drive rather than the traditional mechanical kind. You won't enjoy nearly as much space, but SSDs are blazingly fast. 3. Avoid AMD CPUs at all cost. Every machine I've owned that used an AMD chipset had stability problems from the start, while all my Intel machines, some ten years old, still work very well. 4 If you want something with good battery life, most of the newer Dell Latitude or Studio laptops should have you covered. The Toshiba Portege R700 series also looks very good, and that's what I myself am researching for my next machine when my current bites the dust. If a nice, solid keyboard is your primary wish, then give serious consideration to the Lenovo Thinkpads. I've heard time after time that Thinkpads have the best laptop keyboards out there.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Steve

Hi,
I'd appreciate recommendations on a laptop. I'll be running Windows 7 and Window-Eyes 7.2. Two of my concerns are, 1. How much RAM should I get? And 2. keyboard layout and ease of use. I have fairly big fingers. Anything else you think is important to know would also be helpful.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks,
Dan
