Hi Chip,
I don't think the synthesizer will make a difference. I'm using the
Dec Access 32 for Window-Eyes, and this has happened to me twice today already.
Thanks.

Yes, it happens to me about once a day or so as well.
I've wondered is it tied to a particular synthesizer? I'm always using
eloquence, so if it bothered me more, I'd switch to dectalk and see how that
worked.
it's odd, but when this happens, oftne I cannot get narrator to start
properly, I get a few words of speech from narrator, and then it too seems
to hang.
on xp, where I can easily kill the windoweyes process with the kill wineyes
script, it's no big deal to do that and restart WE, but on vista, often I
cannot get WE to shutdown, and I have to restart windows.
Chip

Subject: Los of speech with Window-Eyes
Hi Everyone,
I am still having issues of Window-Eyes just stop talking now and then, and
I was thinking that my computer was locking up, but I have confirmed, that
this is not the case. It is in fact, Window-Eyes.
This happends at least once a day and sometimes more ofthen than that.
One way to tell for sure, is to do a control backslash, and then alt-f4, and
enter, and then load another screen reader, and if the computer starts
talking, we know it is Window-Eyes that is the problem.
This is getting old, and it has been going on since Window-Eyes 7.0.
I do hope that the loving folks at GW Micro could please fix this problem.
I don't get any script update alerts at all.
Thanks.
