One thing I can think of, and it may not be it, is that Firefox is a little more restrictive for security reasons in what kind of scripting it allows to run. That can be a good thing and it can be hard to strike the balance between things working and not allowing the scripting that can be abused by those wanting to do harm. Sometimes limiting some scripting will just render something not usable in the programming of the web site. It's even worse that a lot of times the same thing can be accomplished without using the scripting that can be compromised allowing harm. They just have to use it because it's there or because the tools they use do it that way and they don't have a clue how to program it.
