Hi Chip,
Thanks for the info and have copied the modified set files into the
folder you mentioned. Everything is now working as it should.
The Default Folder in both, Program Files, GW Micro and Program Data, GW
Micro have been restored to their original state from a backup copy.
Cheers
Neville.

Hi Nevel,
yes. for normal day-to-day operations, windowEyes uses the .set files,
scripts, dictionaries, etc. stored in the %appdata% directory, and under
this, you must go into the GW Micro\window-eyes\users\default folder.
you can actually type %appdata% into the "run" dialog as the program name,
and it will open this folder in windows explorer.
also, in the window eyes file menu, profiles submenu, there is a command
button in there for opening the default window eyes profile directory, which
opens the same directory as I mentioned above.
the directories you mentioned in your post are where WE keeps it's "factory
defaults" for set files etc., and probably should not have been overwritten.
it's probably best and safest if you reinstall windoweyes to reset them to
their factory defaults.
hth,
Chip

Subject: default folder problem
Hi,
After upgrading from WXP to W7 HP 32 with a clean install, a problem is
occurring regarding WE 7.2 refresh not finding the correct set files.
After the W7 update,a backup copy of the Default folder used under WXP
was pasted over the Default folder in Program Data, GW Micro as well
as the Default folder in Program Files, GW Micro user.bak. WE 7.2 is not
using these set filesbut seems to be using factory default set files. WE is
not using my exception dictionaryand cannot locate the Thunderbird sets to
mention just two problems.
Is there a copy of the Default Folder located elsewhere which WE is using
rather than the set files located as above?
Thanks
Neville.
