Bill Gates is no longer at the helm of the MS ship.

Quote of the nanosecond. . .
A recent government study shows that too much money is spent on studies to discover the bleedingly obvious.

My thanks to Chris and Aaron for the answers which really clear things up.

I think I will write a letter to Bill Gates.

Don't laugh.

I have found that if you certify a letter and ask for a return sig, the letter often reaches the head of the company, or someone very close.

Why in the world didn't MS design the Windows 7 phone to work with Window Eyes? That would have been beautiful.
Chris stated this well in his response. I would bet that the Windows
Mobile team has/had little contact with the Windows PC team. You would
be flabbergasted at the lack of interaction between individual software
teams, let alone hardware vs. software.
Was GW Micro aware of the Windows 7 phone being in development?
We read the news and blogs like everyone else, so on some level I'm sure
we knew.
Did you try to have any input?
At this particular point in time, we don't have the resources available
for development on alternative hardware platforms. So, in a word, no.
Were you shut out?
Not as such; we were never involved to begin with. Microsoft did,
however, drop the ball by not including even the most basic of AT, like
a mobile Narrator or some such thing.
