I too have one of my 3 pcs which does this. some experimenting proved to me that the sound card was not working at the time the login screen was displayed (there's a way to hit an invalid key normally and cause it to make a beep sound, which it would not do at login).
I think in my case anyway, it's a lack of sound, and not a window eyes issue. I had sighted help, and they did verify my sound card was not muted, and was selected as the default sound device, and everything looked ok, but on this xp pc, I could not get sound until after I logged in. you could investigate sound issues to see if you have one which can be solved. hth, Chip -----Original Message----- From: Keith Barrett [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, November 14, 2010 2:47 PM To: [email protected] Subject: load before startup New computer, xp pro window-eyes 7.2. Load before start up is not working. I have the two boxes ticked but do not get speech at login but it comes up talking after log in. Any ideas where to look for this?
