My guess is yes. I'd suggest switching synthes to test this out.
I use eloquence and sometimes my system seems to slow down while using
iTunes, but I'm using an older laptop.
Otherwise, I don't have too many issues with we and iTunes.

Subject: Window-Eyes and iTunes
Hi Everyone,
Frequently, when I'm using iTunes, speech will significantly slow down and
then speed up again. I'm using Window-Eyes 7.2 on a system running
Windows
XP. I'm also using TrippleTalk as my synthesizer. Is it possible that
this
is a TrippleTalk issue and not a Window-Eyes problem?
Many thanks,
Janet
