Well, found the file in c:\windows\media
Unable to rename it, delete, etc. rights issue. Did a little more research and found MS really doesn't want it changed. An option for turning it on and off, but no easy way to change it. Found something about editing an image.dll in safe mode with some sort of resource editor. any thoughts? .db _____ From: donald E. Bowen, Jr. [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, January 31, 2011 8:10 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Unable to locate the Window 7 Start up sound file Hi, Using WE 7.2 on a Windows 7 32bit Home Premium O/S, I can find Sounds in the control panel and the Windows sound Event lists and thirty Windows sounds including Windows Exit, Login, Log Off etc, and a check box to paly the Windows Startup sound, but I can not find the sound file itself. I want to replace it with one of my own sounds. Before I can replace it though, I have to find it! Thanks! Respectfully, Donald E.
