This happened to me a few years ago, and I discovered I had a phantom account--one I didn't knowingly create. I removed it, and the Log-In prompt stopped. Good luck. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert C" <[email protected]>

That happened to me a couple years ago and it took a convoluted process to get rid of it. Try system restore. Dont know if that will do it.

Subject: How to get windows to stop asking me to log in at startup

Hi, I installed the .net updates for windows xp home and now my system asks me to click on the user account I wish to use when my system boot up. The options are Keith Steinbach, or log off/cancel or something like that. I When I go to user accounts in control panel, there are two listings, Keith Steinbach, and guest. How do I get rid of the log on screen? Mind you, the log on screen does not ask for a password, just which account I will use.

Thanks

Keith
