Does the new control panel always remain open? That is, when I use Alt + Tab to move off the active program and cycle through my active programs, I land on the active program set file -- without the necessity of using Ctrl + \?
Yes, it acts just like any other program. If you want it out of the alt-tab list, you can go under General -> Startup Options, and set the "Show Icon in the Notification Area instead of the Taskbar" option to "Yes."

The 4th Guess What article mentions Visual Studio 2010, what is it and why should us users care? What apps built with it are available for use?

You can read more about Visual Studio at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Visual_Studio. As for what applications are built with it, that's anyone's guess. I can tell you that Window-Eyes is, but Window-Eyes is not a WPF application. So perhaps you're asking what WPF applications are out there?

Better yet, please give a list of the programs currently using UIA.

Ah, that's what you're asking. I know that Blio uses UIA, and there are a handful of Windows Server 2008 utilities that use UIA. Oh, and the inbox of Office 2010 (although that's been supported since Window-Eyes 7.2). I'm not aware of any others right now, but I know that will change as the technology matures.

Does all the programs in Office 2010 use UIA -- Excel 2010, Word 2010, Outlook 2010, PowerPoint 2010, etc.?

No. Only the Outlook 2010 inbox at this point.

Word 2010 was mentioned and how faster reading of tables of contents would be. Does WE 7.5 and UIA now support "content controls" used in Word Headers and Footers? Does Math Zones now work in Word 2010 so college students can do real math?

I believe access to these controls will rely on work from Microsoft. You've been in contact with them, no?

Guess What articles mention that Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Messenger use UIA. What about the rest of the free Windows Live Essentials?

We figure that the Photo Gallery and Movie Maker are not top on the usability list for blind and visually impaired users. If there are other aspects that you're interested, let us know, and we'll investigate.

What 2011 programs from Microsoft (and others) may we expect to employ UIA?

You'd have to talk to every developer in existence and ask them what their future plans are, so that's a bit of an unknown at this point.
