Hi Bud,

Here's a quick overview of how the Window-Eyes treeview works.
It is 2 windows(or panes) , side by side. When you're in the main settings selection treeview, such as: screen, keyboard, mouse, etc. you're on the left side of the treeview (the left window.) Cursor up/down through the list to find the general topic you're looking for. Whenever that topic says, closed, that means there are more sub-topics contained within that main topic. press the right arrow to open that topic. Now arrow down to move through those sub-topics. When you land on one you want to change, the parameters are contained in the window on the right side of your display. Tab or press F6 to move to that window. Now you can Tab down and back up through any available parameters and make changes. If you Shift-Tab back up to the first parameter and Shift-Tab once more you will jump back over to the main (left) window and land where you started. If you want to jump back to that main window at any time hit F6. That will land you back at the topic you were on. Otherwise, if you Tab down through a few parameters and then Shift-tab back up to the top of the list, and Shift-Tab once more, you'll jump back to the left window and land back on the main topic you started on. Conversely, when you Tab beyond the last Topic in the left window or the last parameter in the right window you will land on the Save To Disk button, followed by the Minimize button. These can each be circumvented by using Control-S to save and ESCAPE to exit (minimize) the control panel. If you continue to Tab beyond these, things get a bit more convoluted depending on where you are, i.e. on a main topic or sub-topic in the left pane or on a parameter in the right pane. So just remember the Control-S, Escape, and F6 hotkeys.

Hope this helps.

Tom

Subject: I'm floundering!

Hi Gang,

I hate to admit it but I'm not very familiar with treeview and am having trouble trying to figure it out. The manual still seems to be the 7.2 and I know they are coming out with the current manual when 7.5 is finalized. For instance I am trying to find where to change it so it will read nineteen instead of 1 9. Where can I find something to read that will help me to understand treeview? My 88 year old brain doesn't comprehend things as easily as it did years ago. I'll get it eventually, but if I could just get a shove in the right direction it would be a big help.
Thanks.
