I am using Windows 7, 64 bit, and Window Eyes 7.2. With my old computer, I
found that kill wineyes came in very handy, because closing WinEyes with
insert-control-f4 would not work when the voice died. However, I can not
get it to work on this new computer.
I downloaded the newest scripts for kill wineyes, homer shared objects, and
gw toolkit. I installed them and was asked if I wanted to go onto the web
to find that little file the author of the script mentioned; I answered
"yes." When I hit control-alt-f4, there was an announcement that said "kill
wineyes," there was a brief description of the script, a web site for the
author and copyright was mentioned, and the announcement ended with "cannot
kill process wineyes.exe."
I went into the control panel, turned off scripting status again, deleted
the three scripts, downloaded them again and went through the process. I
still get the same message. If I hit control-alt-f4 a second time,
sometimes the little message is only "kill wineyes" and sometimes there is
nothing announced. In any case, I am always returned to that odd screen
which says "no active application," and wineyes is still running.
Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe when WinEyes 7.5 comes out, I will never
have to use kill wineyes.
