I am not positive about this, but I think that the
Quick Start Wizzard sets your global settings. This should be set for
how you want most programs to speak.
Now, when you are in any specific program, some of the settings are set
for program instead of global.
Somethings you may always want set to global, such as rate, volume,
pitch, etc.
Some things you might want set differently for a specific application.

Also, if you first use the wizard when you install Window-Eyes, and then
go to install factory set files, and install some of these, you will be
changing some of the settings which you just set.
I suggest updating all factory set files first, and then running the
wizard to set your main global settings.
Hope this helps,
Jeff Weiss

Subject: WE 7.5 settings

Hi, When I use the Quick Start Wizard, for instance, to set my choice
for
punctuation, (wanting to hear the common punctuation like period, star,
hyphen) etc. the settings don't hold. Right now, I'm in Outlook 2010
and I
don't hear any punctuation at all. Is Quick Start not an app that runs
globally? In MSWord 2010, I hear numbers in this way: 6 non breaking
space
5 non breaking space 1 non breaking space. I have installed the latest
apps
for using MSOffice but I'm not sure how to know if they're running while
I'm
in the various programs. Doing an alt-tab isn't set to tell me what the
associations are so, the only way I know is to bring up the control
panel
and go to the app manager. Can someone help me with punctuation
settings,
please? Could there be a setting that conflicts with the Quick Start
Wizard
in the tree view for screen, keyboard, verbosity, punctuation, etc.?
Using
Windows 7 and yes, I have the numbers app.
Thank you,
Rev. Jo Taliaferro
