Carol,

how about trying turning off miscellaneous punctuation?  doe that help?  if
so, but you lose something you want to hear, you could set miscellaneous
punctuation to dictionary only, and then enter the characters you still want
to hear.

How can I get this to be silent?  I have tried turning off both formatting
and attribute changes.  Also, I am generally finding Word to be a bit too
