With Microsoft products upgrades are only slightly discounted from the cost of a full version. That is why you don't have to buy the earlier versions. I changed from Omnipage 12, to 15, in one turn, only paying what the new version did cost. Not what any of the in-betweens had been priced. And, as a matter of fact, are you really telling me, that when I one day decide to ditch my Office 2003 currently on my computer, I have first to pay the upgrade from 2003 to 2007, and then pay another upgrade to 2010? I doubt that is the case. And if it is, I might be far better off, throwing out the whole 2003, and walk down to the store picking up a brand new 2010, simply forgetting all about whatever upgrade possibilities would happen to be available. Might happen to be a better deal, if your realism is what sticks. Sure, if you started to look around, you will find a bit of both worlds. Aton of manufacturers does require you to upgrade one step at a time, and you can't skip any steps. Yet another ton, will le you do this without any trouble. There, I am afraid, the realistic bird sits.
