You're right Chris, they didn't do much with browse mode and 7.5, so I don't think this feature is there.
if you had it, it would be confusing in that the character commands you've been used to using for navigation (such as pressing c to go to the next control), would stop working when you landed on the editbox, and when you pressed the C, it would instead go into the editbox with the other text there. I don't know if I'd use such an option or not.
